Directed by Hsiao Chu-Chen, A Chip Odyssey tells the story of Taiwan’s rise in the semiconductor industry. Featuring interviews with over 80 key figures who witnessed and shaped the development of the industry — from the first generation of engineers and female factory workers, to policymakers and technology veterans, and today’s young engineers facing new crossroads. Despite its small size, Taiwan now plays a significant role in powering modern technology. More than a history of industry, the film reveals the human determination and collective effort behind Taiwan’s technological success.
The movie includes English subtitles. The director's commentary is in English, while the interviews are in Mandarin.
